Explanation of the term:

Cannabinoid

A group of chemical compounds naturally occurring in cannabis, including psychoactive and non-psychoactive substances such as THC and CBD.

The cannabis plant contains more than 100 different cannabinoids that interact with cannabinoid receptors in the body to produce a variety of effects, including euphoria or pain relief. The cannabinoids produced by the body are called endocannabinoids and behave differently from those in cannabis.
